[Case Study] Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden Touch Map + Audio Pen Guide
A tactile map and audio pen that enable individuals with visual impairments to enjoy the park without getting lost!
We created a tactile map that combines a voice pen (audio information) utilizing braille printing and QR code printing, aimed at providing enjoyment for visually impaired individuals. In the production process, we selected and filtered information rather than simply converting existing park maps into tactile maps. For example, we reduced visual information such as color and shape, while adding tactile, auditory, and olfactory information, focusing on the information that visually impaired individuals want to know. We applied an antibacterial varnish to the surface of the tactile map, considering the safety and peace of mind of the users. 【Case Overview】 ■ Kyoto Prefectural University ACTR Project ■ Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden Tactile Map + Voice Pen Guide ■ Date: December 2020 ■ Customer Feedback: Users have given positive reviews. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
